About eat2donate
Due to the Covid 19 Crisis, marginalized communities are facing income setbacks and Food & Beverage businesses are struggling to keep their shops running.
Through #Eat2Donate you can ‘pay forward’ food and drink to marginalized communities through Friends International by purchasing a meal, food or drink item from any of our partners listed below.
The first four weeks of the campaign helped to send over 1,000 meals to the Khmer Soviet Hospital to their fontline workers, and after receiving enough community support, the initiative has turned its attention solely to the marginalized communities who have lost jobs and support during this time.
Currently, we have donated over 1,000 meals so far with The Idea and Only One Planet are bearing all logistical costs and eco-friendly packaging which is used to deliver food to Friends International whilst minimizing environmental impact. These costs amount to USD 350 per month, and if you are willing and able to chip in towards this initiative please contact us directly here.
This is a community initiative lead by The Idea Consultancy and Only One Planet, with partnerships with the American and British Chambers of Commerce in Cambodia.

Disclaimer:
This is an honesty based system, where restaurants are expected to take a tally of their own donation counts. We are a community based initiative where The Idea/Slaprea, Only One Planet and Britcham have agreed to support consultant hours, volunteer delivery drivers, cost of transport and platform coverage for free for all those donating. We will run spot checks and ask customers to screenshot the purchase to us and double check tallies.
Donations will be given to the Soviet Khmer Hospital and/or Mith Samlanh for community donations. Donations to ‘other beneficiaries’ are possible and can be arranged directly through Volunteer Nation or The Idea.
Other beneficiaries in the community is widely construed as those who do not have employment, are low on income or simply need a hand. This initiative is compassionate and not calculative, thus locals and even expats can apply to get a meal if they are facing crisis.
We are not held liable for food and beverage sold to customers or donated to beneficiaries or hospitals from cafes/restaurants, we will however do our due diligence to select restaurants and cafes which are known to practice good sanitary standards and ensure that deliveries to beneficiaries occur. Restaurants are also not held liable for food & waste related issues as food & drink are recommended to be consumed day of the delivery and not stored.
